THE FAQ'S

When is the Virtual STEM Conference?
The 2021 ILSAMP Virtual Conference will take place over two days, Friday, February 26th from 5:00pm - 8:30pm CST and Saturday, February 27th from 9:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. CST
What is the agenda for the 2 days?
You'll receive an outline of the event highlighting the flow of each day closer to the event. Believe us when we say you won't want to miss a minute of it.

Where is this happening?
This is a virtual event that will take place online. So you will be able to attend and participate from the comfort of your office or home.

What platform is the event hosted on/how do I log in?
The event main stage will be hosted on Zoom. And we'll be using it in a way you may not have seen. So be sure you've updated to the most recent version before the event so you can take part in all the fun. You will receive more details via email closer to the event.

When is the last day to register?
General registration will be open until the day before the event starts (February 25).

Oral and Poster Presenters MUST be registered with all materials submitted by February 17 to be included in the competition (Deadline Extended).

We encourage all attendess to register early to ensure you can take part in all the fun that will be happening before and during the event.

I want to do an oral or poster presentation at the conference. How do I submit?

You can submit your Abstracts and Posters through this
submission form. Keep in mind, this event is different than years past in that you will not be setting up your posters in a hotel ballroom. The production team will be creating your space online and will need your submission on or before February 17 (Deadline Extended). No expections will be made for late submissions.

What equipment will I need to participate in the event?
You will need reliable internet access. Although we feel the best experience will be had from a laptop or desktop enabled with webcam and microphone, you can access any portion of the event from a tablet or smart phone.

I don't like being on video. Do I need to have my camera turned on?
Yes. This is a highly interactive conference that very closely mirrors a live, in-person event. Being present on camera for the entire conference (excluding breaks) will not only elevate your experience, but the experience of those attending with you.

What if I can't attend the whole event? Will there be a replay?
No, this is a live event. And as with most live events there are no replays. Besides, you don't want to be the only one who doesn't have an awesome story to share about your epic experience at this virtual event do you? Are we bribing you with FOMO? Yes, we are! ;)

What's the attire?
The dress code is whatever makes you the most comfortable (as long as you wear clothing...especially pants). Some may like to dress business casual, like you would for an in-person event, but sweats or PJ's are fine too. You'll have opportunities to interact and meet other attendees, faculty and STEM professionals throughout the event, so keep in mind that other people WILL see you.

Is food provided?
No, silly. This is a virtual event! :) We suggest you have snacks and water at the ready throughout the day. Lunch breaks will happen during of the event, but you may want to prep something for lunch ahead of time or plan to order take out during the event to maximize your time between the sessions. If you have a family, you may also want to prep meals for them prior to the event so you can fully engage both days.

Will there be breaks throughout the day?
Yes, each day there will be breaks for snacks, lunch and potty breaks.
